Stephen E. Heim, M.D. completed his pre-medical studies at the University of Illinois in Champaign, graduated from Northwestern University Medical School, and remained at Northwestern for his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency. Having a particular interest in the treatment of back and cervical spine problems, he also completed a fellowship at the Midwest Regional Spine Trauma Center in Chicago. Prior to joining OAD Orthopaedics in 1988, Dr. Heim served as a U.S. Navy staff physician and as orthopaedic spine consultant for the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute at Pensacola. He currently serves as co-medical director of the Neuro-Spine Unit at Central DuPage Hospital, and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Heim is a Fellow of the American College of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the International College of Surgeons and the American College of Forensic Examiners.

Dr. Heim specializes in the conservative medical and surgical management of back and neck disorders. He maintains medical staff privileges at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield and Edward Hospital in Naperville.
